The building was opened by Gordon Brown in June 1998, and is a purpose built Foyer comprising 64 en-suite bed sitting rooms with common sitting area, ancillary training and recreational and restaurant areas
Located on an urban (central Slough) site, the scheme also housed the new Head Quarters for Beacon Housing Association
It addressed the need to offer good quality affordable accommodation for six months to three years, training facilities and advice on finding jobs and permanent housing to 18-26 year olds
