A new-build two storey cricket pavilion for the Windsor Boys’ School. In collaboration with the school we developed an initial brief of single storey changing rooms to the design of a two storey club house, complete with function room for the school and viewing balcony. Our aim was to design a contemporary building which both formally addressed the playing fields and the romantic tradition of pavilion as a building type. Within the constraints of a tight budget, bespoke features were designed, including the steelwork connections, external light fitting and weather vane.
The building was exhibited in the RIBA "Small Projects" exhibition 1998.
